Abstract
Introduction: Researchers have discovered that a history of sexual assault is frequently linked with a lifetime diagnosis of multiple psychiatric disorders. Sexual assault survivors face a challenging spectrum of physical and mental health symptoms, which results in high health care utilization.  Diagnosis and treatment of this condition will help the victims. The current study examines associations between a history of sexual assault and psychological disorders in these victims in Isfahan city.
Materials & Methods: This descriptive study was carried out in 1393. The sample size was 93 person who were randomly selected from rape victims in Isfahan forensic medicine center.  For mental health measuring symptom check List 90- Revised (SCL90-R) scales were used. SCL-90-R measures the modalities of somatization, obsessive-compulsive, depression, interpersonal sensitivity, anxiety, aggression, phobia, paranoid and psychotisism. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics.
Results: the results of the study showed that the mean and standard deviation of the victim’s age was 23/35 ±3/34 years, and this was in the aggressive group of 26/63±3/75. Most of the victims were between the ages of 23-27 of 47(48/9%) which were. also 50(56/8%) perpetrators were aged 23-27 years.  Also results showed that 64/5 % of patients had moderate and 32/3 % had mild and 1/1 % had severity psychiatricdisorders. The most common psychiatric disorder was depression and angry.
Conclusion: since the psychological consequences of rape, endangering the mental health to prevent it must be spread of education and preventive interventions and to strengthen family and social network and victims who have suffered psychological damage detection and treatment to reduce the incident of serious complications.
